PROGRAMS
Maternal Health and Reproductive Health Rights
CMCE works to strengthen community health systems and improve access to quality maternal and reproductive health services for women and girls.
We collaborate with health facilities, Community Health Management Committees (CHMCs), and community stakeholders to promote maternal health education, safe motherhood practices, and improved access to reproductive health services.
Our interventions support community awareness, improve linkages between communities and health facilities, and contribute to reducing maternal and newborn health risks.
Adolescents and reproductive Health Rights
CMCE promotes the health, rights, and well-being of adolescents by supporting the establishment and effective functioning of Adolescent-Friendly Health Corners (AFHCs).
These safe spaces provide young people with confidential access to reproductive health information and services.
Through school and community outreach programs, CMCE promotes:
Comprehensive sexuality education
Awareness of reproductive health rights
Access to contraception and counseling services
Our programs empower adolescents with knowledge and life skills to make informed decisions about their health and future.
Climate Action and Energy Transition
CMCE integrates climate education and environmental advocacy into community development and youth engagement initiatives.
Energy transition is the backbone of climate change mitigation. By shifting from fossil fuels to clean, efficient, and renewable energy systems, communities can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development.
Through Ecovista Clubs, students and young people are educated and engaged in climate action, including:
Renewable energy awareness
Climate change adaptation
Nature-based environmental solutions
Sustainable land and environmental practices
These initiatives help nurture a generation of environmentally conscious youth and climate leaders.
Community-Based Anti-Violence and Team (COMBAT)
CMCE supports Community-Based Anti-Violence Teams (COMBAT) to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), harmful social practices, and emerging risks such as violent extremism within communities.
COMBAT groups work at the grassroots level to promote prevention, protection, and community response mechanisms.
Through this intervention, CMCE:
Raises awareness on sexual and gender-based violence and human rights
Promotes peaceful coexistence and community resilience against violent extremism
Provides community-based reporting and support mechanisms for survivors
Facilitates referrals to relevant institutions and social services
Cases that require professional intervention are referred to appropriate institutions such as:
Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU)
Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ)
Department of Social Welfare
This community-based protection system helps ensure that survivors of violence receive the support, justice, and protection they deserve.
Women Economic Empowerment
CMCE promotes women’s economic empowerment as a pathway to improving household livelihoods, gender equality, and community development.
We support women, especially those in rural and marginalized communities, to strengthen their economic resilience through skills development, entrepreneurship support, and access to livelihood opportunities.
Our interventions focus on:
Vocational and livelihood skills training
Support for women-led small businesses and entrepreneurship
Financial literacy and savings groups
Linkages to markets and economic opportunities
By strengthening women’s economic independence, CMCE helps women gain greater confidence, decision-making power, and the ability to support their families and communities.
